Attractive native shrub with dark green leaves and pendulous, tubular flowers in shades of red, cream, or green, blooming from autumn through winter. Nectar-rich blooms attract birds, bees, and other pollinators.

Correa reflexa – native fuchsia, common correa, wildlife-attracting shrub

APPEARANCE: Evergreen shrub with oval to lance-shaped foliage, flowers up to 40 mm long, often with contrasting tips.
ORIGIN: Native to south-eastern Australia.
USE FOR: Winter colour, wildlife gardens, informal hedging, understorey planting, groundcover (depending on form).
CLIMATE: Tolerates light frosts, adaptable to coastal and inland gardens.
PLANTING: Well-drained soil in partial shade to full sun; mulch and apply phosphorus-free fertiliser at planting.
CARE: Water regularly until established (approx. 12 weeks), then drought tolerant. Light prune after flowering to maintain shape.
MATURE HEIGHT & WIDTH: 0.5–2 m H x 1–2 m W, depending on form.
